I haven’t actually taken the advice offered for a test drive so I cant vouch for its accuracy or effectiveness but I can promise you that this little book is incredibly upbeat and packed with so many snippets of advice, tips and methods that there’s sure to be something that works for everyone.

Little Red Book of Sales Answers, by Jeffrey Gitomer (Penguin, $24.95)
Billing himself as a chief executive salesman, author Jeffrey Gitomer runs 100-plus sales seminars every year, including annual training programmes on selling and customer service.
His impressive list of clients includes Coca-Cola, Hilton and Time Warner Cable so he must be doing something right.
He says salespeople want answers and claims his book has those answers, 99.5 of them in fact that “make sense, make sales and make money”.
Gitomer doesn’t offer spectacular claims of overnight success. Instead, he simply offers sound advice and suggestions backed by experience and personal success.
