Perfect blend of history and drama

The Judas Strain, by James Rollins (Orion, $36.99):

The elite Sigma Force is back in action in James Rollins’ latest novel, The Judas Strain.

Sigma Force is made up of brilliant scientists, who are called on to save the world from time to time.

This time around, a mysterious algae leads to an even more mysterious epidemic that infects both humans and animals, making them more than a little crazy before killing them.

This is a story about secrets: one buried in ancient ruins in a jungle, another buried in a tome in Venice and yet another buried in our very own genetic code.

As always, Rollins hits on the perfect blend of history, drama, mystery and excitement perfectly, resulting in a good read.
