Story will keep you guessing

Singing to the Dead, by Caro Ramsay (Michael Joseph, RRP $37):

Two little boys are abducted from the streets of Glasgow and it seems that’s not all they have in common.

They are also both children who have been neglected by those who should be caring for them, they almost seem unwanted.

But there’s something else they also have in common. Something that Detective Inspector Colin Anderson finds particularly disturbing: they both look a lot like his own young son, Peter.

As the hunt for the missing boys continues, another case stretches the local cops to breaking point when what initially looked like a simple house fire ends up being so much more.

Then, a third little boy goes missing and this time he doesn’t just look like Anderson’s son. It is his son who have been taken.

This is a great read and kept me guessing for most of the book. The storyline sped along, with plenty of twists and turns.

Well worth reading.
