Mystery that will keep you guessing

The Stranger You Know,

by Jane Casey (Ebury Press, RRP $38):

Three women have been murdered in their own homes, all have been strangled with no sign of a break-in.

For Detective Constable Maeve Kerrigan, it looks like the victims must have let their killer in because they knew him.

And worst of all, it also looks like the sadistic killer could be someone she knows: her colleague Josh Derwent.

And it’s not the first time Derwent has been accused of murder.

This was the perfect mystery, taking just the right amount of time to expose it’s various twists and offering up some genuine surprises.

This is book four of five in the series featuring Maeve Kerrigan but don’t be put off if you haven’t read any of the others: this was the first one I’d read and it works perfectly well as a standalone novel. That said, I’m now going to hunt out the others to see if they are as good
