Not too taxing

Daddy’s Girl, by Lisa Scottoline (Macmillan, RRP $26.99):

Law professor Natalie Greco takes on teaching a class at a local prison, which leads to her comfortable life being turned upside-down.

A riot breaks out during her class and Nat rushes to help an injured prison guard. Before he dies, he asks her to deliver a message to his wife: “It’s under the floor.”

Suddenly, Nat is a suspect in a murder and is receiving anonymous threats and the only way to she can save herself is to solve the puzzle behind the guard’s last words.

A good read for the holidays: a little intrigue but not too taxing.
