Quick and Christmassy

4 Ingredients Christmas,

by Kim McCoster (Random House, RRP $35):

I hate to be the bearer of bad news folks, but Christmas is just around the corner.

Really, it truly must officially be the festive season because a certain large coffee-selling corporation broke out their special Christmas cups last week.

Christmas is a busy old time of the year, so anything that saves some of that precious time has to be a good thing. This book certainly does that.

If you’re looking for quick and easy recipes for the festive season, you’ll find them here. And the best part is that they all use no more than just four ingredients.

There are stacks of very festive and very simple ideas in this book and while it does have the expected turkey and Christmas cake recipes, it is also packed with other recipes that will be a good fit for other celebrations.

This means 4 Ingredients Christmas sure to be a favourite go-to cookbook when you are looking for ideas for food for parties and the like all year-round, not just at Christmas.

And the chocolate tofu mousse on page 112 has just about cured me of my slightly irrational fear of tofu.
