The current state of the drug industry in the United States is being viewed as the potential future for those of us in Australasia.

In the US, the public has struggled to keep up with spiralling prices while the big drug companies have grown rich and gained huge influence over the government agencies that regulate them and the medical professionals who administer them.

Former editor in chief of the New England Journal of Medicine Marcia Angell offers some interesting insights in this frightening look at an industry that appears to have spun out of control.
