Good wee horror for the young’uns

Slawter, by Darren Shan (HarperCollins, RRP $16.99):

If your kids are like I was growing up and enjoy a good horror,  this is the one for them.

The third book in horror master Darren Shan’s Demonata series, Slawter works just as well as a stand alone story so don’t be put off if you haven’t read the earlier book.

As Grubbs and his uncle try to get on with a normal, demon-free existence, the opportunity to work with a legendary cult director as a consultant for a new horror movie looks like a dream job and a perfect chance to have some fun. However, being on the set of a town called Slawter stirs up more than memories.

Never trust fairy tales, there are no happy endings. There’s always something new around the corner.
