Pressing the Right Buttons, by Allison Mooney (Random House NZ, RRP $29.99):

Author Allison Mooney believes that even though we live in a wired world, having people skills is an absolute requirement for business success.

I’m inclined to agree with her.

During the past few months I’ve had a range of customer service issues with some of our larger companies and the thing that has proved the most irritating each time has not been the original issue I was complaining about but the poor manner in which my complaints were handled by customer service staff who failed to understand the meaning of the word “service”.

This book offers a simple framework for analysing personality types and shows the best ways to motivate people.

Understanding the information included here is as important to business success as road maps are to driving.
